Hi, I’m Thea Kable.

 

I’m a designer and PhD candidate working on the unceded lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. I’ve designed publications including a zine about Biosphere 2, an anthology of kids’ stories, and a book about hopeful futures. My illustrations have appeared alongside pirate-y prose, childrens’ stories, and health articles. I also make comics about space settlement and the biosphere. Want to see more?

Following from the publication of the Marvellous Birds Anthology, Story Factory contacted me to help turn four selected short stories into illustrated and voice-acted short films. For each story I illustrated between 13-16 major frames/beats, some with small looping animations. The illustrations were then adapted by Story Factory’s editor, Marcus Khoudair, into animated videos.

These illustrations are for Fredrico Saint Hidoka, written by Medina. The other projects in this series are The Malicious Thief, The Bird in the Antique Shop, and Bryan.
